About the event
There are many competing visions of the future in which utopian or dystopian outcomes are presented as inevitable. However, in this lecture, Rob Hornby will challenge these perspectives, proposing an alternative view in which humans are augmented rather than replaced, empowered rather than controlled. Drawing on Aristotle’s theory of knowledge, he will explore the fundamental differences between human intelligence and AI, arguing that the complexities of leadership require uniquely human capabilities—ones that remain beyond the reach of current and foreseeable technology. Ultimately, he will demonstrate how AI redefines leadership, shifting its focus toward ensuring the development of safe yet powerful tools that enhance, rather than diminish, human flourishing.
