Do We Need Religion?
Hear a conversation where we explore what happened after stepping away from from fundamentalist Christianity, and what we found beyond it.

About the event
Is religion disappearing, or has it simply changed form?
While many have left the church, the patterns of religion - dogma, moral certainty, and "us vs them" thinking, appear more present than ever.
From politics to culture, identity to ideology, are we still behaving religiously...just without calling it religion?
And if that's the case, a deeper question emerges:
Do human beings need religion to provide meaning, morality and belonging or is it possible to live without it?
Barista coffee and drinks available.
Entry is free. Donations optional.
This event is for adults only and everyone is welcome.
Our evening Forum sessions are relaxed gatherings built around conversation and ideas. We open with barista coffee and soft drinks from 7pm, followed by a talk or presentation from a guest or member of The Forum team. Some talks are short, others run closer to an hour, and each event takes a slightly different shape depending on the speaker and topic. The talk is followed by open discussion in an informal, welcoming setting. These are adult only sessions. All welcome.
Parking at the venue is available but limited. Additionally, on-street parking is accessible on Priory Street and in the surrounding areas at council rates.
